Kibbutz Movement House

Givat Haviva

The new home of the Kibbutz Movement stands within the wooded Givat Haviva campus. The design is built around the concept of “The Circle”: a two-storey round building that forms a circle of togetherness, gathered around the values the place stands for: justice, equality, brotherhood and courage. At its heart lies a square multipurpose hall, surrounded by offices, a library and meeting rooms; above the hall, an open patio serves as a shared gathering space.

The façade changes with orientation: polycarbonate, glass and metal mesh wrap the circle, opening views to the surrounding trees. Inside, materials are left unclad: concrete ceilings, exposed air-conditioning, and mesh walls and railings, in the spirit of the Kibbutz Movement’s modesty. The building seeks a connection between spirit and matter.
